It's a funny thing about art, man. Art's not too kind to the people who do it. It's very kind to the people who view it and appreciate it. But for the people who make it-who create it—it's not very kind. And I don't know, but maybe that's the way it's supposed to be. Artists are very, very simple, caring, loving types of people, who feel people's pain — the pain of the world. And maybe it's not supposed to be the other way. Maybe it couldn't be any other way. Because maybe what it's all about is taking that pain and moving it into beauty. - GIB SINGLETON
