There is more to this marksman, than a gun or a bow.. just as there are layers in each of us… The term Marksman was first used in the 1570’s, coming from Old English meaning someone who hits the Mark. So far so good, but it came to encompass much more, George Washington, Andrew Jackson, Ulysses S. Grant, and Abraham Lincoln became known for their skill. Lincoln was known for showing off at target practice on the White House Lawn. As time progressed names such as Doc Holiday, Annie Oakley and Buffalo Bill Cody added a sense of wonder and adventure to the World. More currently people as diverse as Eric Clapton, Angelina Jolie, Joe Perry, Brad Pitt picked up the mantle, among many others.
But for Collins, being a Marksman is not necessarily about the rifle or gun – it is about hitting your mark in life, and Finding Balance as the greatest achievement one can make.
What is Your Target?
A true Marksman, leaves his or her mark, not just on accomplishments, but on the hearts and Joy that live beyond our times.
